Working with the Amazon communities
We’re very keen to protect the environment and community that makes our business possible. For the past two years, we’re proud to have worked in partnership with the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment (SEMMA) of Igarapé-Miri, Pará.
Welcome to Igarapé-Miri, acai capital of the world
Igarapé-Miri is known as the world capital of acai, as it supplies a major share of Brazil's national acai production through sustainable floodplain management. The name comes from local Tupi words meaning "small canoe path".
This year, we supported the Emanuel Settlement Project Association. Located in the riverside community of Maúba, in the Lower Tocantins region, this initiative focuses on a local environmental education program called "Guardiões dos Rios" (Guardians of the Rivers).

The program educates children and teenagers on environmental conservation, sustainable açaí harvesting and management, and adherence to community fishing agreements - reinforcing the two primary sources of income and livelihood for these families.
Our contribution included the donation of uniforms for participating students and essential food supplies for local families. In total, the action directly benefited 50 families, positively impacting over 200 residents across the community.
